Characteristics

Elekta Infinity model equipped with VMAT, an up-to-dated radiotherapeutic technique, was introduced to DIRAMS for the first time in Asia and this model possesses all the advantages of existing radiotherapeutic unit and image guided radiotherapeutic unit.

Equipment Description

• This unit is concentratively emitting radiation to the tumor part by having radiation intensity and direction controlled with image guiding unit while this unit is rotating the surroundings of the patient in 360 degrees and as its advantages, treatment time could be reduced to below 5 minutes and whole body radiation exposure of the patient could be minimized.
• Integrated radiation degree for tumor could be raised by 3-dimensional stereo-scopic imaging unit and as radiation is emitted while avoiding main organs, treatment efficacy could be enhanced.
• As all the parameters were accurately controlled to be matched with desired treatment value by this 100% digital unit, optimized tailored treatment for each patient is enabled.
• VMAT, like tomotherapy, is able to treat several tumors at one time.

Applied target

Precise targeted therapy is enabled for tumors located at head/neck and even deep human internal part in addition to the tumors occurred to the surface layer of breast cancer and skin cancer.
