The Department of Neuro-Psychiatry at the DIRAMS Cancer Center supports emotional stability and quality of life for cancer patients and their families, as well as anyone experiencing mental health challenges. We provide specialized care across the entire cancer journey—diagnosis, treatment, recovery, rehabilitation, recurrence, and end-of-life—by assessing and treating psychological, social, and environmental distress. Emotional changes such as anxiety, depression, sleep disturbance, and lethargy can impact treatment adherence and recovery; therefore, early intervention plays a crucial role in improving stability and quality of life. We also offer broad services for general psychiatric conditions unrelated to cancer, including dementia, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, insomnia, stress-related disorders, bereavement, and adjustment disorders. We provide precise, individualized evaluation and treatment for each patient. When needed, we collaborate with other departments to manage comorbid medical and psychiatric conditions through comprehensive care. We approach mental health integratively within the full context of life, where physical, emotional, and social factors interact, and we are committed to continuing to deliver professional and systematic care for mental health recovery.
