Endocrinology specializes in endocrine actions—where hormones and biological substances produced in the body are secreted into the bloodstream to stimulate or alter specific organs—and in diseases related to endocrine organs.
Representative diseases include diabetes—characterized by polydipsia, polyuria, and hyperglycemia—along with obesity, dyslipidemia; thyroid disorders such as functional abnormalities, nodules, and cancers; and osteoporosis, in which qualitative changes in bone microarchitecture weaken integrity and strength, raising fracture risk. We also treat hormonal dysfunctions and tumors of the pituitary, adrenal, thyroid, gonads, parathyroids, and pancreatic islets. As living standards and medical care advance, the aging population is growing, making endocrine diseases like obesity, diabetes, and osteoporosis increasingly important. The DIRAMS Endocrinology Department has extensive, accumulated experience in diagnosing and treating endocrine disorders and operates an organic, interdisciplinary collaboration system with other departments to ensure patients receive efficient diagnosis and treatment. We focus on diverse areas, including diagnosis and treatment of chronic adult diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and atherosclerosis; diagnosis, postoperative management, and follow-up for thyroid dysfunction, thyroid nodules, and thyroid cancer; diagnosis and fracture-prevention treatment for osteoporosis; and rare endocrine diseases. Since opening, we have operated three radioactive isotope therapy rooms, striving to prevent recurrence and treat metastatic disease in postoperative thyroid cancer patients.
DIRAMS Endocrinology has continuously worked to provide higher-quality medical services in clinical care. All our physicians and staff will continue to work tirelessly for a better future.
