Pathology supports accurate and timely diagnosis for all tissues, fluids, and cells obtained from patients. At DIRAMS Pathology, together with the Radiological Hospital’s 40-year history and research from the Radiation Medicine Research Center, we contribute to specialized pathological diagnosis of tumorigenesis and differentiation. We provide expert services in hematologic/oncologic pathology, gastrointestinal pathology, gynecologic pathology, lung cancer pathology, brain tumor pathology, cytology, and dermatopathology; and we have specialist pathologists for pediatric, breast, endocrine, renal, hepatobiliary, and pancreatic diseases.

Surgical Pathology: Tissues obtained by endoscopy or surgery are grossly examined, processed into slides, and diagnosed by light microscopy. We diagnose malignant tumors (cancer) as well as benign tumors and inflammatory diseases, and determine staging for surgical specimens.

Cytopathology: Fine-needle aspiration for masses in the thyroid, breast, etc.; cytology of fluids such as urine, sputum, ascites, and pleural effusion; and Pap tests contribute to diagnosis.

Immunopathology: Aids in accurate differential diagnosis of undifferentiated tumors, identifies the organ of origin for metastatic cancer, and contributes to diagnoses of lymphoma and leukemia.
