The Department of Anesthesiology manages preoperative anxiety relief, intraoperative anesthesia, postoperative pain control, chronic pain treatment (including cancer pain), and intensive care. Cancer patients often present with comorbidities such as cardiovascular and endocrine diseases, necessitating special caution during anesthesia. Cancer surgeries are frequently major operations with the potential for significant bleeding. While anesthesia-related complications were once a concern in complex surgeries, advances in medical equipment and anesthesiology have virtually eliminated such issues.
